Recap in One

Read the long, winding answer, then hand back its core in a single spoken sentence — starting with "What I hear you saying is…" or "Let me say that back…". One sentence. If you need a second one, the first wasn't a recap.

A good rep

One sentence. If you needed a second one, count the round as missed — that's the whole game.
Names the core, not the most colorful detail. The eleven parking lots are memorable; the software error is the story.
The speaker would say "yes, that's it." Not "well, sort of." Imagine handing the sentence back and watch their face.

The revealed recap is one defensible core. Carrying a different thread forward can be right — check that yours is a spine, not a limb.

Background: Recapping on the palette. A recap checks your understanding, gives the audience a handhold, and lets you pick which thread to carry forward. Listening mode (in setup) reads the ramble aloud — recapping the heard is the real skill. Add your own rambles in Your Prompts.
