Cold Open
A guest card and a dealt opening form. Deliver the first question of the conversation out loud — one sentence of setup at most, then the question. No biography recital, no compliment-question, no thesis the guest must untangle.
A good rep
- One sentence of setup at most, then the question. The guest should be answering within ten seconds of you starting.
- Recognizably the dealt form. A Decision Point opening asks about a choice; if yours asks about feelings, it drifted.
- No anti-pattern: no compliment, no resume recital, no thesis the guest must untangle before answering.
