A good rep
- Honest. The turn doesn't pretend topic B follows from topic A when it doesn't — a clean declared turn beats a fake segue.
- Two sentences max, with no "anyway," no "so," and no apology for changing the subject.
- Recognizably the dealt type. A Backward Link names something said earlier; a Forward Promise parks a live idea out loud.
